What is the current road condition?

Check road conditions before traveling via Balranald Shire, Wentworth Shire, or Central Darling Shire websites. Unsealed roads may close during wet weather.

Can I arrive in a 2WD vehicle?

Yes, 2WD vehicles can access the lodge and park. Please ensure you have a full tank, spare tyre, and drinking water as there is no mobile service en route.

What should I wear?

Comfortable casual clothes, walking shoes, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent are advised. Bring warm layers for cold outback nights.

Where is the nearest petrol?

Pooncarrie (87km, 1hr) or Buronga (108km, 1.5hrs). No petrol is available at Mungo Lodge.

Is there mobile or WIFI?

Yes, Mungo Lodge is pleased to offer complimentary WIFI access to all our guests. While mobile coverage in the remote Mungo area is primarily available via the Telstra network, our lodge WIFI ensures you stay connected during your outback adventure.

What are the dining hours?

Our Bar & Bistro is open 7 days:
Breakfast: 8:00am - 10:00am
Lunch: 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Dinner: 6:00pm - 8:30pm
Café menu available throughout the day.

Can I have a campfire?

Fire pits are available around the property subject to NSW fire regulations. BYO wood or purchase at reception.

Is there camping?

Yes, unpowered campsites with hot showers, toilets, and kitchen facilities are available. Pets are welcome in the campsite (not in cabins).

How long should we stay?

To truly discover the secrets of Mungo National Park, we recommend a 2-night stay.

Are there walks and drives?

Yes, several guided and self-guided tracks exist. Visit the National Park visitor centre or contact Mungo Lodge for tour details.

Is the lodge eco-certified?

Mungo Lodge is a proud holder of the Australian Eco Tourism Certificate, focused on water and energy conservation.
